About UsThe Office of Continuing Education works with school districts, educational service districts and professional organizations to offer courses for professional development credit, clock hours and continuing education units. All courses must be reviewed and approved by the appropriate academic department. If you are uncertain which is the appropriate form to complete, please call our office: 509-963-1504 |
Professional Development CreditMinimum of 10 lecture type contact hours, 20 field-based hours, or an approved combination is required per credit. To propose a course for professional development (500) university credit, four forms are required - a Professional Development Course Form, ADA Signature Form, Learner Outcomes and Assesment Form and the syllabus. Elderhostel Proposal FormThe Office of Continuing Education is seeking proposals for Elderhostel programs. Elderhostel programs are non-credit, educational programs for people 55 and over that typically last 4-6 days and focus on a single topic. If selected, programs may be offered as early as fall 2006 and beyond. To learn more about the types of programs available through Elderhostel and their academic partners please see http://www.elderhostel.org/. Programs should have special features, either in location or content, that make them unique and desirable. Have a great idea? Submit your course proposal and credentials to us for consideration.
